Mia Elezovic

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Mia Elezovic started her music education at Zagreb Music School in the class of Blazenka Zoric and later at Music Academy Zagreb with Zvjezdana Basic. After graduating in 1995 (at age of 19), she moved to Vienna where she studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Wien with Hans Petermandl. In 1997, she moved to Frankfurt/Main for “Aufbaustudium” with Herbert Seidel. Parallel she was a student of the master program at Music Academy in Zagreb with Zvjezdana Basic, where she received her Master of Music degree in 2001. During her studies, she worked in master classes with a variety of internationally acclaimed teachers, including S. Bishop-Kovachevich, E. Picht-Axenfeld, H. Nakamura, O. Yablonskaya, L. Hokanson, J. Perry, J. F. Antonioli, J. Rose, J. O´Conor, D. Pollack, M. Suk, P.Entremont. She finished her “Aufbaustudium” in Frankfurt in the winter of 2001/2002.
Teaching has always been an important part of Ms. Elezovic’s career. As a dedicated teacher, she has more than 12 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels. Ms. Elezovic served as faculties of many music schools such as Kyoto University for Music and Arts (Japan), British School in Tokyo (Japan), and International School in Frankfurt (Germany). She was also invited as a faculty member at Terra Magica Music Festival in Porec (Croatia) as well as at summer camp at Ross School in East Hampton (USA).
An accomplished musician, Ms. Elezovic has performed in concerts internationally, giving solo recitals as well as chamber music concerts in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czeck Republic, Germany, Japan, Slovenia, Spain and the United States. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, The Croatian Chamber Orchestra, and String Orchestra “Gaudeamus” under conductors MO Kazushi Ono, Pavle Despalj, Ralphe Pascal, Petar Skerjanec, and Zlatan Srzic. She has also appeared on radio and television in Croatia and Germany with notable success.
Ms. Elezovic is a holder of prizes and awards of prestigious national and international competitions as well as foundations (Croatia, Italy, Japan, and Germany). In spring 2004, she was invited by the Japanese government for a research in the field of Japanese contemporary music for piano at Showa Music Academy. In February 2006, she got an invitation to be a piano-soloist member in the Spanish National Ensemble for Contemporary Music in Madrid.
Ms. Elezovic moved to New York City in September 2007 pursuing her 2nd master degree program at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where she enrolled in the Contemporary Performance program.
