Lisa PappasViolin & Viola
Lisa began her musical training at an early age on the violin, with her father, a music teacher, conductor and performer. At the age of 12, Lisa began her studies with Harold Coletta, a professional violist and professor at Yale University. When she was 20, she began studying viola. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at SUNY Purchase, with her principal teachers, in addition to Mr. Coletta; Yuval Waldman, Burton Kaplan and Sally Ricketts. My Master Classes were taken with Burton Kaplan, Glen Dicterow, Yuval Waldman and Sally Ricketts.
Lisa has taught violin/viola privately and also in groups since 1984. She also held teaching positions at the Green Meadow Waldorf private school and at the Rockland Conservatory of Music in Rockland County, NY. She has also taught general music education classes as well as private lessons within the public schools system of North Rockland.
Recently, Lisa has enjoyed playing viola/violin for the Hudson Lyric Opera Company and the Yonkers Philharmonic.
